Shirgley Hall Wedding
Most of the Weddings that we photograph are in the North East of England, but in this particular instance we travelled down to Shrigley Hall in Cheshire. The Wedding was recently featured in Bride Magazine and below is an extract from their interview with our lovely Bride Rachael.
How did you meet?
We have lots of mutual friends and met at one of their birthday parties.
Tell us about the proposal.
We were in New York on holiday and Max proposed at the Rockerfella Christmas tree as Home Alone Lost In New York is my all-time favourite film. He even got the proposal recorded.
What was the theme for the day, and did you have a colour scheme?
We didn’t really have a set theme in mind; we knew we wanted a blush pink and grey colour scheme with a nice clean finish which was achieved.
What venue did you choose and why did you choose it?
We chose Shrigley Hall Hotel in Macclesfield as we wanted a large venue that could fit all of our 300 evening guests. The venue was also so beautiful inside with amazing scenery for photos.
What did the bridesmaids wear?
I had six bridesmaids all of whom were family or closest friends. They all wore blush pink backless dresses.
Tell us about your floral arrangements.
We had beautiful white and blush flowers for the bridesmaids with roses and gypsophila. The buttonholes were roses with some gyp and my bouquet was all white roses.
How did you feel as you walked down the aisle?
Overwhelmed and I have never been more happy in my whole life.
How did you make the ceremony personal to you?
We picked songs and hymns that have personally important to us and had readings from our closest friends who picked out what they wanted to read themselves as they felt it reflected us. For our first dance we choice Please Forgive Me by David Gray as this is a song we have always loved since first getting together in 2012.
What was your most memorable moment?
Seeing my husband’s face as I walked down the aisle.
Tell us about your wedding cake.
We had three separate cakes and Krispy Kreme towers.
If you could go back and change anything, what would it be?
I would get married a little earlier so I could have more time to enjoy the day.
Where did you go on honeymoon?
We did lots of travelling: Bali, Gili Islands, Singapore, Chaing Mai, Bangkok and Dubai – we went on the Monday after the wedding.
Do you have any advice for couples in the planning stages?
Just enjoy every moment and do what is best for you two; people will have something to say no matter what so don’t let it get to you.
If you are a Bride & Groom and are still looking for a wedding photographer, please get in touch, it would be great to have a chat. If you have already booked someone then may we wish you all the best for your big day – it will be fab.
