Doxford Barns Wedding
“One half of me is yours, the other half yours, Mine own, I would say; but if mine, then yours, And so all yours.” – William Shakespeare
David and Catherine were married at Doxford Barns and it was an early start for us. The groom was having a pre-wedding game of golf with 11 of his men-folk at the stunning Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Course alongside the Northumberland coastline. When the wind blows at Dunstanburgh it is a very difficult course, however this morning it was calm and the scoring was good.
Meanwhile, Catherine and her bridal party were starting to get ready in the cottages at the Wedding venue. Doxford Barns which is nestled within a private 550-acre country estate, along the Northumberland coast near Alnwick. Bespoke, rustic and full of charming romantic character. Doxford Barns is a beautiful barn wedding venue where rural charm effortlessly meets modern elegant style.
We captured special moments such as the Bridesmaid’s and the Father of the Bride’s first look, and the tears that flowed did not endear us to the Make Up Artists who had worked so hard, but after a little touch up all was ready to go.
The Wedding Ceremony took place in the Threshing Hall, which as the name suggests was where the Grain used to be separated from the Wheat. With it’s beautiful high-ceiling, and fantastic acoustics, the bride entered to the accompaniment of a wonderful singer and a string quartet and a song called Sanctuary from the TV Series “Nashville”.
After the Wedding Ceremony, we took some group shots on the Lawn and then we took the David and Catherine to the Lake for some photographs in this beautiful location.
The Wedding Speeches were excellent and let’s just say that Crystal Palace Manager, Roy Hodgson, received a very special mention. We stayed until late and although the rain started to come down into the evening, David and Catherine were still happy to have a few more shots outside.
It was a very wonderful wedding and we felt honoured to be part of their special day.
