One summer about 5 years ago, California, Oregon and Washington State in the USA suffered from ferocious forest fires. The sky was filled with brown smoke and particles. Wedding Photographers noticed that it gave their images a rustic bohemian look and liked it. Since then many of them edit in a style which replicates this look. The danger of doing so is to back yourself in to a corner which may be difficult to extract yourself from should you wish to change. In the UK, there are 3 main styles, a) dark and moody, b) light and airy and c) deep and rich. We tend to be in the latter category. We use words such as velvety, lush and luxuriant. There is no right or wrong it is a personal choice. Trend 1 - Black and White. One thing that will never change is the beauty of Black and White images. They entice the viewer to look at the emotions and subjects within the photos rather than be distracted by colour. Trend 2 - The Wow Image. Whilst most photographers will capture candid and documentary images throughout a wedding day. Couples (and their families) love a Wow image. Something that currently just cannot be captured on a phone. Whether it be use of off-camera flash or a photographer’s creative instinct, this could be an image that is printed large and will hang on a living room wall for years to come. Wall Art is back in demand. Trend 3 - Two Photographers. The benefit of having a team of two wedding photographers far outweigh any additional cost. There is twice the chance and opportunity for them to capture those essential moments and memories that will last a lifetime. I hope the above is of interest and informative. If you are still looking for a wedding photographer then please let me know. It would be great to have a ZOOM chat and I can share with you a full Wedding Gallery (no obligation). Thank you Laurence
