Wedding Photography is quite nerve-racking, but ultimately the photographer just wants to produce the best images they can given the environment they are working in. Most venues are fantastic, but there can be the odd exception. Problems usually arise from simple things such as service without a smile, timeliness on serving meals, lack of communication/updates and lack of preparation. The side effect is that the stress levels of the B&G and guests increase, thus lessening their enjoyment of this wonderful event. When I am shooting candid shots then I am on the look out for smiles and laughter. I usually wander around bearing a rather cheesy grin, because I want it to be a happy and joyous occasion and the typical response to a smile is a smile. My apologies for the negativity of this blog, as I said earlier, most venues are fantastic and are staffed by really helpful friendly people, I just recommend my top tip to couples that when they are researching venues make sure that they ask for the contact details of couples who have recently used their services. I would also ask about the pre and post wedding breakfast activity, as guests often find this lull in proceedings as the most unsettling time.
